According to figures release by the local Ministry of Commerce the total value of exports from the garment and footwear industry increased by 39.1% in the first quarter of 2016
  

The analysis was carried out by the Department of Commercial Intelligence at CICB (Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry) following a report from the Department of Foreign Trade from the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC)   

First quarter revenue totaled 2.8 billion US dollars, up by 2% on a currency neutral basis. International revenue up by 1% (up by 4% currency neutral)
