Wolverine Worldwide opens innovation hub in Boston
The US-based company, which owns brands such as Merrell and Saucony, has opened an innovation hub in Boston to accelerate product design and development, as part of its wider transformation strategy
Located at 90 Causeway Street in Boston, the 11,000-square-foot facility is designed to accommodate employees from the company’s design and product teams, including Saucony product team members in design, development, product management and merchandising.
“We are excited to open our first global Innovation Hub in the heart of downtown”, said Chris Hufnagel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wolverine Worldwide. “With this Innovation Hub, our team of design, development, and merchandising leaders are well-positioned to design awesome products and continue transforming Wolverine Worldwide into a consumer-focused builder of great global brands”.
This opening follows the recent inauguration of a new office in Zhuhai, China and a new workspace in Hong Kong. In addition, Wolverine’s Sweaty Betty brand moved into new offices during the summer. But more changes are in the pipeline, with renovations underway at the company’s global headquarters in Michigan and new environments for Merrell and Saucony scheduled for completion in spring 2025.
“We believe that world-class environments are key to attracting and retaining talent, unlocking our team’s full potential, and driving our business forward. Spaces that encourage creativity, collaboration, and innovation are critical as we continue building a new company for the future”, concluded Hufnagel.
