Wenzhou and Li & Fung sign 80 million US dollars agreement
The footwear trade deal was announced at the end of the four-day trade promoting activity 2016 Hong Kong and Wenzhou Economic and Trade Investment Cooperation Week
According to the China Leather Industry Association, trade delegates from Wenzhou city maintained in close contact with the officials from Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), and representatives from Li & Fung Group with the aim to work together on investment activities for boosting trade in Southeast Asia countries. As a result, an 80 million US dollars footwear agreement has been signed by Wenzhou city and Li & Fung. No more details were revealed for now.

The same source announced that during the meeting attended by the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC), the German Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, The British chamber of commerce in Hong Kong, American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Mr. Song Jinli, Vice Director of the Bureau of Commerce confirmed that currently there 66 projects in Wenzhou with a total investment value in the range of 15 billion US dollars.

Hong Kong is an important market for Wenzhou-made products, and is viewed as an important source of capital for helping Wenzhou’s industry transformation and upgrading, accelerate internationalization.
