Visitors to Milan's trade fairs rose by 21%
Between the 17th to the 20th, MICAM and its sisters' fairs were visited by 42 273 people, up by 21% on the September 2022 edition. The organisation highlights the increase in foreign buyers
MICAM Milan, MIPEL, The One Milan and HOMI Fashion&Jewels Exhibition trade fairs came successfully to an end yesterday, with 2000 brands presenting their collections for the next season under the banners of research and innovation, quality, and a strong awareness of sustainability. The organisation already disclosed some figures, including an increase of 21% in trade visitors to 42 273, as compared to the September 2022 edition.
But “above all, the fairs revealed an increasing demand on the part of foreign buyers”, which proves the important role played by exports in strengthening the recovery of the footwear industry. The figures indicate growing numbers of visitors from Spain, France, and Germany, as well as the “long-awaited comeback from China and confirmations from Japan and North America”.
On the other hand, in addition to the networking opportunities provided, these trade fairs were an important forum for discussing the sector's most pressing issues, namely sustainability and artificial intelligence, as well as new production technologies and the future of retail.
