Under Armour hires former Estée Lauder executive to lead its AI and analytics efforts

The sportswear company has appointed Liz Bacelar, the former executive director of global tech innovation at Estee Lauder, to lead its new artificial intelligence and advanced analytics division
In this role, Bacelar will be responsible for building a team of data scientists, engineers and AI specialists to integrate Gen AI deeper into Under Armour’s operations. According to ADWEEK, her mission is to usher in an era of generative AI for the company.
She most recently spent four years at Estée Lauder directing a research and insights team that provided analytics reports and briefings on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative digital experiences.
Her experience includes running global innovation competitions, including two AI ideathons with over 700 participants and an online division competition with over 200 startups. She also worked with Microsoft to set up an AI lab and led AI training for 500 employees across five divisions.
Bacelar will work alongside the company’s CEO Kevin Plank, CTO Danny Miles and VP of data management and analytics Patrick Duroseau.
