Under Armour appoints SVP of global brand and Americas marketing
The US-based sportswear company has appointed Tyler Rutstein, who has previously worked at adidas and Overtime, as its senior vice president of global brand and Americas marketing
He joins Under Armour from the sports media company Overtime, where he was most recently chief brand officer and head of merchandising. Before that, he spent nearly seven years at adidas, ending his tenure with the company in September 2019 as senior marketing manager for style collaborations. He also was two years at Reebok.
According to Footwear News, in this role, Rutstein will be responsible for ensuring brand alignment across all regions, while also leading the development, execution and management of brand and channel marketing efforts in the Americas region.
The move follows a series of appointments made in 2024 to turn the company around. Most notably, Under Armour founder Kevin Plank has been reappointed as CEO, replacing Stephanie Linnartz, who stepped down after a year in the role. Other changes include Yassine Saidi as chief product officer, Kara Trent being promoted to president of the Americas, Yuron White being hired to lead footwear in April and Eric Liedtke as executive vice president of brand strategy in August.
