TOMS and Target team up for a charitable lifestyle collection
Blake Mycoskie, TOM’s founder, has announced the partnership with a video where he admits his excitement with the deal. The new products will be available in stores on November 16th, just in time for the holidays
As a result of this new venture, for every TOMS / Target gift bought, items such as shoes and blankets and meals will be given to those in need, through American Red Cross Disaster Relief, Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief, Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.
The collection bears TOMS’ earthy, rough-hewn aesthetic, and includes artfully frayed slip-on canvas shoes, weathered-looking T-shirts and pullovers and muted hues, nubby knit throws and glass water bottles suggestive of recycled vessels.
“Target’s holiday partnership with TOMS is the perfect marriage of both brands’ core values—great design that’s accessible to everyone and a commitment to giving back,” commented Kathee Tesija, Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising and Supply Chain Officer, at Target.
“We’re excited to partner with Target for the holidays and take TOMS' One for One giving model further than ever before,” commented Blake Mycoskie, adding: "Every purchase allows Target’s guests to bring home a beautifully designed product and do good, providing nourishment, warmth and shoes to a person in need.”
Target Corporation is an upscale discount retailer providing high-quality, on-trend merchandise at attractive prices. Minneapolis-based Target has a network of 1 934 stores in the United States and Canada, and an online bussiness.
TOMS, the company known for its original slip-on shoes and One for One giving model, which sees a pair of shoes donated to a child in a developing country for every pair of shoes purchased.
