Sonia Rykiel faces liquidation
After a restructuring process the company elected no winning bid and is now facing liquidation and will now work to close stores around the world
Sonia Rykiel, owned by the Chinese giant Fung Brand, is ending the period of negotiations and entering liquidation. For four months the company has looking for options to try and recover the business. However, no "convincing offers" have been received.

According to several reports on the press, Sonia Rykiel received two offers in that period: one by Emmanuel Diemoz, former Head of Balmain, and another by a French family connected to several industrial sectors. Both offers were rejected.

Now, a Paris-based court has determined to liquidate Sonia Rykiel. Uncertainty has been on the table for the brand and its workforce of 130, since Sonia Rykiel entered in receivership back in April. The company owned a network of ten establishments and was present in more than 200 multibrand stores around the world.

Currently the company is run by Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of the brand's founder, who took the reigns of the brand after her mother’s passing back in the summer of 2016.
