Saucony's President steps down
Anne Cavassa, who joined Wolverine Worldwide as President of the Saucony brand in 2018, has left the company. Search for a successor is already underway
Before joining the Wolverine-owned brand, Cavassa held leadership roles at several running, athletic and outdoor companies, including Brooks, Running, Timberland, Nike and Reebok.
“We thank her for her contributions and wish her well. The process of naming a successor is well underway”, stated Brendan Hoffman, Wolverine's President and CEO during the first quarter earnings call, where the news was broken. As the search continues, the President of the Active Group (which consists of Merrell, Saucony, Sweaty Betty and Chaco), Chris Hufnagel, will work with the Saucony team in the interim.
“We believe having Chris more involved in the day-to-day operations of Saucony will allow for greater collaboration and synergies with Merrell, as we look to solidify Saucony as a preeminent leader in core running and leverage the brand’s strength in technology and innovation to build out a lifestyle offering to broaden its wear occasions and consumer reach”, added Hoffman.
In the first quarter of 2023, Saucony posted 132.6 million US dollars in revenue, up by 21.2% as reported, or by 24.5% on a constant currency, from the same period in the prior year.
