Roswell Historical Museum honoring Chewning Footwears owner

Robert Chewning sold shoes in Roswell for more than 60 years. He owned Chewning Footwear until he was 95

“It has been wonderful to have this exhibit to honor Mr. Chewning, but even more so the stories we've had from people coming in”, said museum assistant Amy McVay-Davis.

Hundreds of people from Roswell got their very first pair of shoes at Chewning.

As part of the exhibit it is possible to see the original couch where Mr Chewing had a smaller seat for kids. Mr Chewing kept hand-written records of his clients and their shoe sizes, one of the curiosities revelead by the exhibit, which will be on until the end of  the month.
