Robert Barakett ventures into the footwear segment
The Canadian-based brand is set to launch its first footwear collection, featuring Italian-made shoes, for the fall 2025 season. Eric Edmonds, with decades of experience, will lead the new division
“Our new footwear line embodies the brand’s signature sophistication and attention to detail, furthering Robert Barakett’s evolution into an authentic lifestyle brand”, commented Robert Barakett, Creative Director and Founder of Robert Barakett, to WWD.
The Montreal-based menswear company, known for its casual designs, is expanding into the footwear segment. For the fall 2025 season, the brand will introduce a line of modern men’s shoes crafted in Italy.
The new collection will include sneakers, loafers, chukka boots and other styles, featuring materials such as calfskin leather and suede. Prices will range from 225 to 395 US dollars.
Eric Edmonds, a seasoned footwear expert with more than three decades of experience at Cole Haan, Allen Edmonds and Johnston & Murphy, will lead the new division. He will also take on sales responsibilities for the Rocky Mountain and West Coast regions, while Jeff Block will continue to oversee sales for other markets.
This launch marks another step in Robert Barakett’s journey to becoming a complete lifestyle brand. Known primarily for its popular Barakett Tee made from premium pima cotton, the company has steadily diversified its offerings, including a recently introduced women’s tee line.
