Record buying at shoe stores in the US
According to finance.yahoo.com, citing the latest data from the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, consumer spending at shoe stores and other retailers selling footwear spiked to an all-time high in March
This increase takes place as consumer confidence has been rising, in a context of rolling-out of the mass vaccination, and after many American families received cash payments from the Government stimulus package.
There is still a lot of uncertainty about the coming months and this rise will keep up in the short term. On top of all the consequences of the pandemic, concerns of the footwear industry have been intensified in the last few months given the rising raw material costs.
