Premium ceases to exist, Seek continues
The trade fair landscape in Berlin has changed, as Premium, which started in 2003, will no longer take place. Only its streetwear counterpart Seek will continue
Held for the first time in 2003 in the Potsdamer Platz subway tunnel, the Premium am Gleisdreieck on Luckenwalder Street, with its focus on the contemporary segment, has been one of the most important seasonal fashion events in Germany for 17 years. But it came to an end amid “critical developments in the industry and the changing global economic situation”, which prevented it from recovering from the long-term impacts of the pandemic.

“Premium was more than just a trade show. In 21 years, we have achieved a great deal, have been the stage for an incredible number of success stories in the industry and have brought the whole world to Berlin. In the process, we have become corporate and creative consultants, conference organisers, publishers, tech experts and retailers, established the first Fashion Week in Germany and entertained the entire industry. We have launched young talent awards and we have seen many big players come and go”, commented Anita Tillmann, Managing Director of Premium, who had already announced her departure.

Seek Carries On

Meanwhile, the streetwear-focused Seek will continue to run: around 200 brands are expected at its upcoming edition on the 16th and 17th of January in Berlin.  The platform has established itself as an ideal space for innovative brands but is also the organiser of the “Conscious Club”, a hub on the topic of sustainability.

Our flexibility and creativity enable us to react dynamically to changes and always offer innovative solutions. Together, we strive to continue to set standards in our industry and at the same time have a positive impact on the community. Our shareholder Clarion is the fourth largest trade fair and event organiser in the world and relies on the Seek concept, which was very strong in direct comparison to Premium in the summer and led to good results. The Seek generation is the future - constructive, based on partnership and honest”, stated Jörg Arntz, Managing Director of Seek.
