Owner of Havaianas appoints new CEO
The Brazilian Alpargatas has appointed Liel Miranda as Chief Executive Officer, effective from the 1st of February. He joins the company from Mondelez International’s Brazil business unit
With a background in business administration, Liel Miranda joins Alpargatas from Mondelez International’s Brazil business unit, where he has been CEO since 2019. He began his career in 1992 at Sousa Cruz as a trainee and throughout his career held several commercial positions in countries such as Brazil, China, Canada and England, also taking on the position of CEO of the company in Brazil.
At Alpargatas, he is expected to play a key role in continuing the transformation process started in 2023 focused on simplification and efficiency and lead the company in the implementation of new strategies that combine resuming sustainable growth with operational excellence.
Miranda will succeed the current interim CEO Luiz Fernando Edmond, who will step down from the Executive Committee on the 1st of February to continue performing his duties as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
