OrthoLite launches new ESD insole technology for work and service footwear
The US-based company has introduced the solution OrthoLite ESD Shield, reportedly, the "world’s first and only" mechanically-bonded electrostatic discharge protection insole technology
The ESD Shield system elevates the now conventional ESD (electro-static dissipating) technology thanks to the combination of conductive copper fibres that require no glue and the FiberFusion technology, which stitches the fibres into the foam using thousands of elliptical needles (unlike the previous single row of stitching under the toes) for a permanent mechanical bond.
The goal is to provide a "full heel-to-toe ESD protection", that does not degrade over time, lose effectiveness, or compress, without compromising comfort and performance. It is "ideal" for work and service footwear.
"ESD Shield is the result of our pursuit to advance ESD insole technology while delivering the most comfortable, best-performing insoles on the market. The adhesive-free solution does not detract from the breathability, moisture-wicking or eco-friendly attributes of OrthoLite foam - making ESD Shield the most comfortable, most effective ESD solution on the market", commented Rob Falken, Vice President of Global Innovation for OrthoLite.
