Nordstrom announces leadership appointments
The Seattle-based department store chain has announced some executive changes in the company's merchandising and store divisions
Jamie Nordstrom has now undertaken the position of Chief Merchandising Officer, succeeding Teri Bariquit, who retired earlier this year. Most recently, he was the company's Chief Stores Officer, but overall, he “has experience working across nearly every aspect of our business and has held broad-based leadership roles in merchandising, stores and digital over the span of his twenty-eight-year career with the company”, commented Pete Nordstrom, President and Chief Brand Officer.
Nordstrom also announced the appointment of Fanya Chandler as President of the Nordstrom stores, becoming responsible for overseeing the strategy and execution of the retailer's stores. During her nearly 32-year career with the company, she also occupied several leadership positions, most recently as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of the Southwest region.
In addition, Gemma Lionello has been appointed to the newly created role of President of Nordstrom Rack, after serving as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of the company's Northeast region. In the new role, she is expected to further the company's efforts to “provide customers with great brands at great prices and expand Rack's reach and convenience with new stores in key markets”, bringing 35 years of experience with Nordstrom to the job.
“We're fortunate to have such exceptional leaders in Fanya and Gemma to help us continue to drive our Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack businesses forward, and these changes leverage their tremendous talent”, stated Pete Nordstrom, to whom they will report.
