Nike appoints new Chief Diversity Equity and Inclusion Officer
The US-based sportswear company has appointed Kizmet Mills as its new Chief Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Officer. She is the fifth person to hold the role since 2020
“At Nike, we strive to be leaders in fostering a strong culture of belonging and believe that the work of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team is critical to helping us achieve this mission. Having held senior leadership roles within the company for more than eight years, Kizmet is well positioned to continue advancing Nike’s goals of championing all athletes”, Nike said in a statement.
Mills, who joined Nike in 2026, has been promoted from her role as senior director of global diversity and inclusion to chief officer of DEI. From the 11th of November, she will take over from James Loduca, who announced in a LinkedIn post that he was leaving the company after 18 months, citing family reasons. With her appointment, Mills will become the fifth person to hold the role at Nike since 2020.
This promotion is also the latest in a series of executive promotions and changes at the brand since Elliot Hill took over as CEO. Earlier, Nike made several promotions in its legal, supply chain and sports marketing departments.
With nearly 18 years of experience at Nike, Anne Miller, who most recently was Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, will assume the role of executive vice president of global sports marketing. Vice President and Deputy General Counsel Rob Leinwand was then appointed to succeed Miller. In addition, Venkatesh Alagirisamy, an 18-year Nike veteran and Chief Supply Chain Officer, will report directly to Hill and become a member of the senior team.
