New partnership between Barbour and adidas
The giant sportswear business has teamed up with the famous classic wax jackets manufacturer from Simonside, England, to present a new collection
"The collaboration came about through a mutual respect for each other’s heritage and a desire to create a very special collaboration to reflect the best of both brands" Barbour Footwear Manager Paul Arnett commented.
Elements of the famous Barbour jackets were incorporated into the shoes, such as a waxed cotton tongue or the Barbour Beacon logo on the peg ends, and the adidas Originals team re-created footwear from their archives.
Barbour, celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, is a 5th generation family owned business famous for its wax jackets, which are still manufactured by hand in the factory in Simonside and each year over 100 000 jackets are processed via the central, subsidiary and local customer service operations. Barbour has 11 of its own retail shops in the UK, and a presence in over 40 countries worldwide including the United States, Germany, Holland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, Argentina, New Zealand and Japan.
