New General Manager at Assomac
The National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leathergoods and Tanning Technologies (Assomac) has announced that Agostino Apolito will assume the role of General Manager from January 2024
He joins Assomac from Cofindustria Firenze, where he worked until 2022 and was appointed Deputy Director in 2016. During his career, he has been involved in advising, assisting and supporting companies in the areas of finance and business law, governance, internationalisation, innovation, investment policies and aggregation strategies.
According to the organisation’s statement, his “long experience in the confederation of industry” is precisely what will allow him to work for Assomac, “in line with the presidency's strategic indications”, while at the same time being a guarantee for institutional stakeholders and member companies.
As General Manager, Apolito is expected to promote technologies and their communication, in collaboration with the associations of the leather industry; to contribute to the development of sectoral policies to consolidate and enhance the heritage of skills, professionalism and history of the member companies; to make “Made with Italian Technology” a guarantee of high-quality standards and sustainability; and to develop new partnerships with technical high schools and to renew the process of the Simac Tanning Tech exhibition.
He succeeds Roberto Vago, to whom Assomac expresses his gratitude for the “valuable contribution and work over the years” and “the value he has brought in terms of technical expertise and professionalism”.
