New creative director at Tod’s
The Italian-based luxury group has appointed Matteo Tamburini as Creative Director of the Tod’s brand. He succeeds Walter Chiapponi, who stepped down in July
Tamburini joins the brand from Bottega Veneta, where he's been since 2017, having risen through the brand’s womenswear department during the tenures of three designers: Tomas Maier, Daniel Lee and Matthieu Blazy. He is set to present his first collection for Tod’s at the next in the next Milan womenswear week in February.
He “is a talented creative. His modern vision of high quality and Italian lifestyle will definitely bring an added value to our brand. Tamburini will develop a creative team of highly skilled people with an in-depth understanding of the luxury world”, commented Diego Della Valle, President, and CEO of Tod’s Group.
The newly appointed creative director said “I am honoured and excited to join the Tod’s family and become part of a brand that is so closely tied to my origins and memories. I identify myself with the brand’s values and the continuous pursuit of high quality and style”.
Tamburini succeeds Walter Chiapponi, who departed the brand in July for Blumarine.
