NAE Vegan launches line of shoes made using pineapple
No Animal Exploitation (NAE) is a sustainable brand based in Portugal and specialized in manufacturing vegan shoes. Now they are venturing into a new line of footwear using a material made from pineapple leaves
Since its launch in 2008, NAE has developed a wide range of ethical shoes by using different materials such as cork and ecological microfibers and now Piñatex, a natural and sustainable material made from pineapple leaf fibres, which can be used as an alternative to existing textiles and leathers.

According to the company’s own words: “We want to be an alternative for those who are looking for Portuguese made shoes and are keen to use products highly focused on design and incorporating the latest trends but also presenting a responsibility to our planet”.

Recently showcased at the Ethical Fashion Show in Berlin, a pre-event of the expected Berlin Fashion Week, NAE Vegan showcased several Piñatex shoes, including models of black biker boots and sneakers. The collection presented is black, urban and unisex, totally inspired by the latest trends.

Based on the concept of ethical consumption No Animal Exploitation developed a deep interest in gathering sustainable alternatives proposing fair and animal-friendly products and raising awareness of the responsibility of our actions towards the planet and taking part in a circular and social economy, without compromising design, style and quality.
