Mulberry appoints new CEO

The British luxury brand has announced the appointment of Andrea Baldo as Chief Executive Officer, effective from the 1st of September. He succeeds Thierry Andretta, who has already stepped down

With more than 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, Baldo joins the company from Ganni, where he was CEO and Executive and Director from 2018 to 2024, driving the international growth of the business by focusing on retail network development, product innovation, and a sharpening of the brand identity to increase customer engagement.

Previously, he worked at Coccinelle and Marni, where he was credited with helping to redefine the strategic priorities of the businesses, ultimately leading to improved sales and profitability performance. He has also held leadership roles at Diesel for more than ten years, including as Chief Operating Officer of the US business.

The change in leadership follows the company’s trading update, which reported that the group’s revenue for the year 2024 was down by 4%. The luxury handbags and accessories company has struggled in recent months, caught up in the global slowdown in the luxury goods sector, particularly in the UK and Asia.
