More than 1 800 brands expected at The Atlanta Shoe Market
The US footwear trade event is set to host more than 1 800 brands at its next edition, which will take place from the 17th to the 19th of February at the Cobb Galleria Centre in northwest Atlanta
Laura Conwell-O’Brien, executive director of The Atlanta Shoe Market (TASM), said that the bi-annual event will showcase more than 1 800 brands at its upcoming February edition and has been sold out since October, with 136 brands on the waiting list in January. Therefore, to accommodate more exhibitors, the organization added booth space in the Garden Court at the adjacent Renaissance Waverly Hotel.
This next edition, which marks TASM's 80th anniversary, will also be the first one to feature an app that will include floor plans and updated show information, as well as reservations. Those who pre-register will receive an email with a barcode synchronised with the app, which can be used to print a badge at a kiosk, allowing them to skip the long queues at check-in.
With retailers in mind, the organisation of the trade fair has created a new area to facilitate meetings with their teams, the Retailers Lounge. It will be located at an empty shopfront t in the Galleria Mall. This lounge will also host a meeting of the Two Ten’s Women in the Footwear Industry (WIFI) group on the 18th. Another highlight goes to the panel talk of the National Shoe Retailers Association on this same day, led by Kari Palmer, creative director of Schuler Shoes.
