Mariano Shoes, skilled craftsmanship
The Mariano Shoes brand was born in 1945 and named after its founder, a master in the art of shoe making. The company specialized its production in men’s footwear
Quickly Mariano achieved a high reputation in the Portuguese market, not only due to the quality of the materials used but also because of the techniques used and the perfection of their final products.

“Is not a mass production, but a complex product, shaped by highly skilled craftsmen using the best materials having always comfort in mind”, explains Augusto Oliveira. Faced with a fast way of doing things and a standardized world “Mariano keeps the same passion and exclusivity, one pair at a time.”

Through the years the company has transformed itself and has invested in the modernization of its infrastructures, to keep up with the brand’s growth, which “combines handcraft techniques, human skills and technology, always preserving the unique character of each pair of shoes”. Despite all the changes the company’s facilities are still located in the same place where the brand was born, in São João da Madeira, an historic region for the Portuguese footwear industry.

What about the future? “We must preserve the brand’s prestige; That is why our shoes can only be found at the best stores, those that share our values; passion and exclusivity”. With this aim in mind Mariano Shoes result from a perfect combination of the shoemaking tradition with art, and innovation, never forgetting the design. Today, the brand’s challenge is to conquer new markets.
