London Fashion Week will be digital and with no audience
The event will run from the 19th to the 23rd February 2021, with both womenswear and menswear designers to take part in a gender-neutral showcase. London Fashion Week February 2021 will be a digital event, taking into account the most recent government restrictions in England
The British Fashion Council (BFC) announced it has been "discussing with the Government the way forward with regard to London Fashion Week", given the current context of health emergency" and a decision has been made to go ahead with the event, from the 19th to the 23rd of February, and “the parades, presentations and installations can be recorded and photographed, but they cannot be held with an invited public”, explained the BFC.
The UK's measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 allow the recordings and photo shoots, always in accordance with security measures. The event page will be www.londonfashionweek.com, a website on which all designers will show new content and offer new collections for sale with digital content “accessible to everyone throughout the year”.
"BFC continues to ask the Government to commit to supporting the fashion industry," said BFC executive director Caroline Rush. “One of the most important requests is to allow top design talent and models to travel to and from the UK with a gradual introduction of quarantine exemptions for the fashion industry, in order to be able to carry out essential business and protect the competitiveness of the British fashion industry”,
