Leather industry in Pakistan must focus on technology
This was defended by the Leather Working Group during a seminar dedicated to the industry in Pakistan
During a day-long seminar organised by the Sialkot Tannery Association and Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), experts from the Leather Working group have urged local tanners, leather goods manufacturers and exporters to focus on the use of advanced techniques in leather goods manufacturing.
By investing in new technologies, the local industry will gain advantages in the quality of products. The same experts have also defended the need to comply with international quality requirements and atmosphere protection standards required internationally. This will give the local industry more strength to face the competition and to succeed in the global markets, especially in the demanding European Union markets.
