Leadership changes at Ecco
The Danish footwear group's Chief Commercial Officer, Thomas Gøgsig, steps into the CEO role, bringing over a decade of experience within the company and a strong educational background
Ecco has conducted a leadership change with the resignation of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Panos Mytaros, who will be succeeded by Thomas Gøgsig, the group’s Chief Commercial Officer. No specific reason has yet been given for this transition.
Mytaros, who took on the role in August 2021 after a 27-year tenure at the Danish footwear company, succeeded Steen Borgholm.
Gøgsig, a member of Ecco’s managing board since 2021, joined the group in 2012 as a Chemical Engineer at Ecco Leather in the Netherlands.
Over the years, Gøgsig ascended through several key roles, including Head of Applied Research and Vice President of Market Intelligence. In 2021, he became Executive Vice President and Chief Operating and Data Officer at the Danish footwear company.
The new CEO also has an extensive education background. Gøgsig holds a PhD in Natural Sciences from Aarhus University in Denmark and has participated in executive education programmes at institutions such as INSEAD, MIT Sloan, and Wharton.
