Kamik celebrates its 125th anniversary
The Canadian footwear brand is celebrating 125 years of making “quality, timeless footwear” designed to provide comfort and protection in any weather, with the launch of several initiatives
On the occasion of its 125th anniversary, Kamik unveiled a redesigned website to improve the consumers’ experience, highlighting the brand’s heritage and commitment to sustainability, and launch extended content and products over time, including blogs, product features and more brand highlights. In addition, it has launched a campaign that features Kamik’s hydroelectric Montreal factory and Kamik employees, centred on the concept of timelessness.
“The brand has stood the test of time for our innate ability to deliver what consumers need to comfortably embrace the outdoors. As we continue encouraging families to step outside together, we are elevating our product offerings to offer modern new designs with high-performance materials, all while remaining timeless and true to our heritage”, commented Gillian Meek, CEO of Kamik.
To honour this milestone, consumers can take part in a contest to win one of 125 pairs of shoes that the brand will be giving away throughout the year, as well as a monthly gift of 125 US dollars to spend on any product.
Kamik also took the opportunity to highlight its latest innovations in the field of sustainability. These include the use of algae-based BLOOM, which allows the brand to reduce its dependence on non-renewable resources, minimise environmental impact and contribute to cleaner waterways, and sourcing 100% of its leather from Leather Working Group's gold-rated tanneries. Additionally, “recyclability remains a top initiative”, as the footwear manufacturer recycles rubber, plastic, packaging, and even cooling water within its factories.
