JCPenney starts search for new CEO
JC Penney’s CEO Jill Soltau is exiting the company a month after the retailer emerged from bankruptcy proceedings through a sale to Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management
JCPenney’s new ownership group, consisting of Simon Property Group and Brookfield Asset Management, along with strategic partner Authentic Brands Group, have announced the new search for a Chief Executive Officer to replace Jill Soltau, who is exiting the company effective from the 31st of December 2020.
According to the company's own words the new leader should be "focused on modern retail, the consumer experience, and the goal of creating a sustainable and enduring JCPenney".
Stanley Shashoua, Simon Property Group’s Chief Investment Officer, will be appointed interim CEO effective from the 1st of January 2021.
