Golden Goose delivers revenue growth
The luxury sneakers brand saw its revenue grow by 20% in the first quarter of the year, as compared to the same period of 2022, due to “continued investment in and expansion of the retail channel”
“We entered this year stronger, more determined and more ambitious than ever, with the support of our incredible community”, commented Golden Goose CEO Silvio Campara, quoted by Drapers. According to the magazine, the Italian-based luxury brand posted a total revenue of 133.3 million euros in the first quarter of the year, reflecting an increase of 20%, as compared to the same period of last year, but also a 66% rise, as compared to the first quarter of 2021.
Moreover, Golden Goose recorded a double-digit year-over-year revenue growth across all of its markets, namely by 23% in the Asia-Pacific region, 20% in the EMEA region and 17% in the Americas region. The company said these results were due to organic growth “driven by continued investment in and expansion of the retail channel”, as well as direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales, which accounted for 67% of total sales.
The brand's solid performance follows a full-year 2022 strong revenue growth of 30% to 500.9 million euros. Founded in 2000, the brand, now owned by the private equity fund Permira, has currently more than 180 stores worldwide.
