Global business platform Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags to return in June

The next edition of the international Expo Riva Schuh & Gardabags trade fair will take place from the 15th to the 18th of June in Riva del Garda, Italy, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in the industry

At the next edition of the footwear, bags and accessories trade fair, 40 countries will be represented among the exhibiting companies (including China, India, Brazil, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Germany), who will be offering a wide and varied range of collections to meet the different needs of buyers, including from a sustainability viewpoint.

The organisers expect visitors from over 100 countries worldwide and hope the event will facilitate new business relationships, especially with those who can help a brand enter new markets. Looking to achieve an ever-increasing internationalisation rate, Expo Riva has been strengthening international relations with key stakeholders in the footwear industry by promoting the ‘Around The World’ project, which landed in Portugal just last April.

Innovation and Trends

In addition to being a business platform, the fair has been expanding its range of activities. Visitors to the next edition will discover the latest innovations dedicated to the retail world thanks to the Innovation Village Retail project, which will feature 10 start-ups from Italy (4), Estonia (1), Israel (1), Spain (1), Sweden (1), UK (1) and the USA (1).

To delve into international consumer trends, attendees can visit the Highlights Area. Promoted in collaboration with the Arsutoria School, this area aims to be not only an exhibition space but also “an inspirational, innovative and sharing engine for the entire industry community” present at the event. According to the organisers, along with activities such as presentations, workshops and talks with experts, new products selected by the fair’s Fashion Committee from the exhibitors’ collections will be on show.

Since June 2024, this committee – comprised of the fashion footwear specialist Claudia Schulz, marketing and merchandising consultant Maria Cristina Rossi, fashion consultant Claudia Garcia and Arsutoria school director Matteo Pasca – has been responsible for preparing an analysis of the fashion trends in footwear and bags for each season.

Facts & Figures

In its 100^th edition (the one in June 2024 will be number 101), the event hosted more than 70,000 footwear collections and welcomed around 500,000 visitors. Over the last ten years, the event has convinced professionals from at least 100 countries to come to Riva del Garda for each edition.

In recent years, about 80% of the visitors have come from the European continent and a good 20% of the total number of visitors have come from outside Europe.
