GDS, the platform for creativity
The next edition of the footwear and accessories trade fair GDS - Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories will present exciting collections, trend information, the Festival for Shoes and Accessories and fresh impulses
As a kick-off event for the new season, the GDS trade fair offers a modern industry platform for the retail sector, where retailers can inform themselves extensively about all facets, view new suppliers, and form an initial impression of the collections and trends for the 2016 Spring/Summer season. Roughly 880 brands will present their collections during the three trade fair days. In order to start into the season with new impulses and an ideal overview of product line selection, GDS is promoting international designs within unique platforms.
After the successful debut in February 2015 there will be a “comeback” of the twenty international Design Trendsetters as part of the premium world STUDIO. This time they will bring their new 2016 summer collections.
Also APICCAPS, the Portuguese Footwear Association, will again present a selection of young, promising designers from Portugal as part of its “Portuguese Young Talents” scheme.
Another special highlight is the cooperation of GDS with the Polish Institute Düsseldorf, the Trade and Investment Department of the Polish Consulate General of the Republic of Poland and the HUSH Warsaw trade fair. As part of the project “Ready to Wear Polish Brands” exciting Polish brands will be showcased at GDS. The five brands Goshico, Nowi?ska, Mako, Mumu and Baldowski will be presenting their collections in the HIGHSTREET lifestyle world in Hall 5. Loft37, winner of the 2014 HUSH Selected competition in the “Shoes and Accessories” category, will also be showcasing its Spring/Summer designs. The prize was awarded by GDS in cooperation with HUSH Warsaw.
