Footwear maker Marko to invest 10 million US dollars in logistics hub
The Belarusian footwear manufacturer intends to allocate 10 million US dollars on building a proprietary logistics hub
Local news agencies from Belarus are quoting the company's Director General Nikolai Martynov as the source of the announcement.
The land plot for the new logistics hub is located in the Vitebsk suburb. The logistics hub will be commissioned in December 2015 and the building is planned to occupy about 12 000 squared meters, including over 10 000 square meters for storing finished products, with a retail outlet due to occupy the rest of the building. Official sources indicate there are plans to create nearly 100 jobs during the implementation of the investment.
Apart from using the logistics hub for the needs of the holding company, Marko is considering providing storage, processing and delivery services with regard to light industry goods. Official sources confirm that taking into account the possible applications of the hub the payback period for the investment might take up until ten years.
