Footwear industry leaders meet to address challenges and seize opportunities

This year’s Global Footwear Executive Summit, which will be held at APLF 2024 in Hong Kong on the 20th of March, will address innovations in footwear production, materials and branding strategy

Bringing together experts and decision-makers from various segments of the footwear industry, the 4^th edition of the Summit will take place on the afternoon of the 20^th of March during the APLF trade fair in Hong Kong to address the industry's main challenges and opportunities. The first session will focus particularly on exploring solutions for the near future regarding the “current scenario, where the demand for footwear is significantly lower than the available supply”.

Afterwards, a session moderated by Joel Lecroq, Principal Consultant of Super Lecroq (Xiamen) Consulting Co., Ltd, will discuss sustainable materials in the footwear industry. Speakers include Thomas Walther Schmidt, Director of Innovation and RSL Huafeng Textile Group, Herman Wong, Co-Founder of Affinity Network, Bernie Rhodes, Sourcing Director at Hunter Boot Ltd, and Neil Wright, National Sales Manager - Australia & New Zealand at Kamu Safety.

The final session will focus on the concept of omnichannel as a way of changing the perspective on branding in modern retail. Moderated by Amit Chopra, Managing Director and Founder of Shoes & Accessories Magazine, the session will feature Adang Zheng, Footwear Director of KOLON SPORT, Andrew Wood, Senior Commercial Director at Asia Pacific Steve Madden, Rajesh Kadam, CEO of INC.5 SHOES Pvt, and Vikas Bagga, Business Strategy Consultant at Zoom Shoes.

APLF 2024

The Hong Kong-based leather trade fair will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 19^thto the 21^stof March 2024, in an edition that marks its homecoming after being held in Dubai last year. As usual, APLF Leather & Materials+ and Fashion Access will be held in parallel.
