Fashion and footwear exports from Uruguay end 2024 with a positive balance

After a rocky start to 2024, Uruguay’s fashion and footwear sales grew by 4% throughout the year, according to Uruguay XXI
After a difficult start to the year 2024, Uruguayan fashion and footwear exports began to recover.
According to Uruguay XXI, the government body responsible for promoting the country’s exports and foreign investment, over the year as a whole, exports increased by 4% to 30 million US dollars, as compared to 2023.
In November, foreign sales reached 4 million US dollars, an increase of 26% compared to the same month in 2023, the government agency highlighted.
The country is carrying out a series of actions to win new markets and increase the competitiveness of local companies. One of the most recent initiatives was the Business Roundtable with the Chamber of Design, which brought together around 30 brands to promote Uruguayan fashion abroad.
