Famous online celebrity shoe auction kicks off
The Small Steps project is a humanitarian organization that raises money for children and families living on rubbish dumps. Their annual online fundraising shoe auction is the biggest in the world
Small Steps is a UK charity with a network of people volunteering their skills. They develop their work with the support of companies donating their products and services to raise funds that are later channeled to those who need them the most.

The first line of action is emergency aid, providing items that will protect people from the immediate dangers on rubbish dumps: from shoes, gloves and clothing to mosquito nets food and water.

This enables them to establish the demographics of the dump and devise and implement the second phase-sustainable projects that aim to reduce the time children spend on dumps and support them in taking small steps into education. At the same time the projects tries to assist adults as they move towards employment.

Small Steps also makes documentary films and organizes campaigns, such as Celebrity Shoe Auctions, to boost awareness and funds for of this huge, but often overlooked, global situation. The Celebrity Shoe Auction is the biggest in the world and enables the project to send shoes, emergency aid and other sustainable solutions to deprived families all over the world.
