Expo Riva closes with positive figures despite difficult market conditions

In line with January 2024 and amid difficult market conditions, the Italian trade fair specialising in footwear, bags and accessories closed its last edition with 9 000 visitors from around 100 countries

Between the 11^th and the 14^th of January, Expo Riva Shuh & Gardabags hosted 1 100 exhibitors and welcomed 9 000 visitors, the same number as last year’s January edition. A total of 19 events also provided industry professionals with essential insights into market trends, business opportunities and developments. According to the organisation, exhibitor satisfaction exceeded expectations, with 1 100 participants from 36 countries reporting excellent results.

“Being the first to open the Winter 2025/26 season is undoubtedly a winning strategy, highly valued by buyers. Even in this 102^nd edition, the extensive array of international collections, coupled with suppliers offering both private label and branded production – in a variety of quality and price ranges – has proven to be the key to success”, said Alessandra Albarelli, General Manager of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi.

This edition also underlined the strong international appeal of the event. Roberto Pellegrini, Chairman of Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, pointed out that “exhibitors hail from 36 countries, while visitors represent around 100 nations – 80% from Europe, 12% from Asia, with attendance from the Americas and Oceania remaining stable, and a notable increase in visitors from Africa.”

The January 2025 edition of the Riva fair also served as the stage for several announcements. The trade fair has announced the introduction of a new format for the Gardabags, which will occupy Halls A2 and B2 of the fair from June this year, the extension of Hall B1, also for June, and the construction of a new two-storey structure by 2028.

The next edition will be held from the 14^th to the 17^th of June 2025.
