Ecco expands presence in India
The Danish footwear group has expanded its retail presence in the Indian market by opening three new stores in Mumbai and New Delhi. Ecco plans to have 25 stores in the country by 2026
Located at Palladium Mall in Mumbai, DLF Promenade and Pacific Mall in New Delhi, the new stores will offer an extensive collection of products, including formal footwear, contemporary casual styles, and performance outdoor and golf footwear. Founded in Denmark, the Ecco brand first entered the Indian market in 2019.

“India is a key market for Ecco, and we are excited to further strengthen our presence in Mumbai and Delhi. These new store openings represent a significant milestone in our journey, allowing us to bring our premium footwear collections closer to our customers”, said Sumeet Lohia, Country Manager, Ecco Shoes India, highlighting that the brand is witnessing high consumer interest, with repeat customers accounting for 50% of sales.

Ecco’s expansion plan focuses on key retail hubs in India’s top six cities, with the opening of 25 exclusive stores by 2026. By then, “we plan to have a robust presence in all major malls”, he added.

“As a family-owned company, we are committed to the Indian market for the long run. We see significant potential driven by India’s demographic push and rising disposable income”, commented Patrick Sønderskov Iversen, Ecco’s Regional Director for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. The group aims to expand its presence beyond these initial stores by 2030.
