Dune Group founder to be a keynote speaker at the launch of Global Footwear Future Coalition

The Global Footwear Future Coalition, which aims to be a forum for the exchange of knowledge between industry stakeholders, will be launched on the 9th of October. Daniel Rubin, Founder and Executive Chairman of The Dune Group, will be the keynote speaker

The Global Footwear Future Coalition (GFFC) will be officially launched at a symposium to be held at Havas Village, London, on the 9^th of October from 8.30 am to 6 pm. The day will feature a mix of keynote speeches and smaller sessions that will address key systemic challenges facing the industry, as well as future opportunities arising from this exchange.

With this in mind, Daniel Rubin, Founder and Executive Chairman of The Dune Group, has already been announced as a keynote speaker. He is expected to share his insights on the evolution of footwear to date and highlight the key issues and opportunities that need to be addressed.

Going forward, the GFFC aims to provide a forum for the exchange of footwear knowledge between brands, retailers, manufacturers, trade associations, research, academia and government to foster “a community that interrogates why, what, how and where to influence footwear futures through new ideas, ways of doing, products, services, and business models”.

Born out of the collaboration of “like-minded individuals” “across sectors, disciplines, and regions”, the forum will focus on promoting collaborative events, research and educational opportunities to help shape the future of footwear.

Founders include Darla-Jane Gilroy, British academic and fashion designer, Liz Ciokajlo, 3D researcher and lecturer, Alexandra Sherlock, lecturer in fashion and textiles at RMIT University (Melbourne), founding partners Joe Kearins, Principal at Gate One, and Sarah Byfield-Riches of SBR Partnerships, and founding partner consultant Sven Segal, sustainable footwear designer and founder of the Better Shoes Foundation.
