Demna named new creative director at Gucci

Demna, who has been creative director of Balenciaga since 2015, has been appointed as the new creative lead at Gucci, the Kering Group, parent to both houses, announced
“Demna’s contribution to the industry, to Balenciaga, and to the Group's success has been tremendous. His creative power is exactly what Gucci needs. As I thank him for everything he has accomplished over the past 10 years, I look forward to seeing him shape Gucci’s new artistic direction”, commented François-Henri Pinault, Chairman & CEO of Kering.
The successor to Sabato de Sarno has finally been announced. The Georgian-born designer Demna will oversee his final show at Balenciaga on the 9th of July, after which he will move to the Italian luxury house, where he will work with Gucci CEO Stefano Cantino.
