Delcam’s businesses merged and renamed
Autodesk, owner of the Delcam business, has announced the new Autodesk Footwear Group, which will be fully focused on supporting designers and manufacturers of footwear
Chris Lawrie, Director of Autodesk Footwear commented: "The reinforced focus on the footwear industry means greater possibilities for both our existing and new customers. Being able to provide an even wider range of tailored solutions improves the options available to both designers and manufacturers.”
Autodesk, maker of software for the engineering and construction industries, is, since February 2014, the American owner of UK-based Delcam Crispin. The ranges of products previously named Delcam Crispin and Delcam Custom Orthotic Insoles have been combined under the Autodesk Footwear brand. The new group brings together the existing software solutions, plus technologies and services for the footwear industry available from Autodesk. A new Autodesk Footwear group was announced and will be fully focused on supporting designers and manufacturers of all types of footwear.
According to the Autodesk: “The new group will continue the high level of investment in dedicated products and services for the footwear and insole creation market. By working with Autodesk Footwear, businesses will benefit from a team of developers, sales and support staff who together offer vast industry knowledge and experience in all areas of footwear development.”
All of the staff from the Delcam businesses have been moved into the new group, and the company said this shouldn’t affect staffing or offices, with headquarters remaining in Birmingham.
