Decathlon reports full year sales growth
The French-based sporting goods retailer has announced a net sales increase of 12% in 2022, euros as compared to the previous year, reaching 15.4 billion euros
The company also reported that its net result increased to 923 million euros, on a comparable basis to the net result of 913 million euros recorded in 2021. Decathlon pointed out as well that its digital sales accounted for 17% of the total revenue, reflecting a sharp increase from pre-pandemic levels (8% in 2019).
“Thanks to the commitment, determination and expertise of our teammates worldwide, Decathlon achieved a solid performance in a very unstable economical and geopolitical context. In 2023, Decathlon will pursue its evolution to get more people to be moved by the wonders of sport, in respect with societies and the planet”, commented Barbara Martin Coppola, Chief Executive Officer of Decathlon.
Concerning its sustainability commitments, the retailer highlighted that in 2022 saw for the first time a decrease in its absolute carbon emissions (-1.5% versus 2021) and that 23% of its sold products were eco-designed, as compared to 10% in the prior year.
