Concept Factory presented technological innovation at FIMEC
Visitors to the 2024 edition of Fimec were able to see the 14th edition of the Concept Factory (Fábrica Conceito), held by the Brazilian Institute of Leather, Footwear and Artifacts Technology (IBTeC), in partnership with Fenac and Coelho Assessoria Empresaria
The project is an action designed with the aim of presenting the latest launches in machinery, equipment, components, raw materials and management systems to the footwear manufacturers who visit the fair.
With a total area of 1 300 square meters, the project involved the participation of 70 companies, and presented four production lines, in a partnership with Luz da Lua, who created two models of bags especially for this fair. Concept Factory also counted with two big names in the Brazilian industry: Calçados Ramarim, producing a sandal model and a casual sneaker from the Comfortflex brand, and Calçados Bompel, which produces four models of footwear classified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in addition to Escola do Calçado Senai, with two models of women's sneakers with its own brand.

In addition to shoe and bag manufacturers, suppliers of raw materials and equipment and production systems were also present.
The project also involves the participation of around 100 workers, including Senai Calçado students and workers from participating brands.
Over the three days of the fair, a total of 1 600 pairs of shoes and 80 bags were produced.

Social responsability
Especially for the project at the fair, part of the workers hired are professionals who are outside the market - and, often, this participation turns into an opportunity to gain a new job. This is one of the project's biases - working in the area of social responsibility, enabling these professionals to demonstrate to visiting companies their potential in a production line, thereby increasing the chances of being re-inserted into the job market.
Part of the products manufactured will be destined for entities in the region that develop social actions and projects that serve people in situations of social vulnerability. Still in the area of socio-environmental responsibility, the Factory has a partnership with service providers who are hired to promote the correct disposal of all waste produced during the fair, so that it can be recycled or reused.
