Coach might close deal to buy Stuart Weitzman soon
Accessories retailer Coach Inc. is being quoted as being in the final stage of the process to acquire shoe company Stuart Weitzman
According to the Nasdaq website, a deal could be announced before the end of the current week, with Coach paying an amount in the range of 600 million US dollars to acquire the upscale shoe business.
Private-equity firm Sycamore Partners is selling Stuart Weitzman, which is one of several brands inherited by the US private equity house when taking over Jones Group Inc..
At the time of the acquisition, Sycamore paid 1.2 billion US dollars for a portfolio of brands, including the Jones New York apparel, Easy Spirit, Nine West and Stuart Weitzman.
