Clarks CEO leaves after less than a year in the role
Víctor Herrero will now join Australian jewellery group Lovisa. The Melbourne-based group announced the appointment, saying Mr. Herrero would come on board as soon as COVID19 restrictions allowed
Víctor Herrero, the former CEO of Guess, will remain on the Company’s Board. He took the reins of the 196-year-old footwear retailer back in February, after Giorgio Presca, CEO at the time, left.
The company confirmed that Chairman Johnny Chen will resume the role of CEO as an interim measure. Mr. Chen has been a member of the Clarks’ Board of Directors since February this year, after the Hong Kong-based private equity firm completed its investment in the UK-based group. Additionally, Mr. Chen carries Board appointments with Alibaba Pictures Group, China Travel Service and Uni-President China.
“Víctor has done an incredible job in a much shorter than anticipated time and gives us a unique ability to accelerate the next stages of our growth plans. Victor Herrero will remain on the Clarks board. A new CEO will be announced in due course”, it can be read in a company' statement.
