China and Belarus to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the leather sector
The China Leather Industry Association and the Belarusian State Light Industry Agency have signed a cooperating agreement to promote bilateral leather trade between the two countries
Taking advantage of the All-China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), representatives of the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) and the Belarusian State Light Industry Agency met on the 30th of August at the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus in Shanghai to sign a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral trade in the leather sector between the two countries.
In particular, the memorandum was signed by Li Yuzhong, Vice president of the China National Council of Light Industry and President of CLIA, and Luhina Tatsiana, President of the Belarus-owned Light Industry Agency. Belarus exports over 4 million US dollars of products to China every year, mainly semi-finished leather and fur, while China exports mostly handbags and shoes.
This agreement marks another step in the 30-year collaboration between China and Belarus.
