Capri Holdings partners up with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation
The luxury fashion group has entered a three-year partnership with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices in the US
Capri and NFWF expect to restore the health of around 150 000 acres of critical grazing lands in the Northern Great Plains, Southern Great Plains and Rocky Mountain Rangelands, a key leather-sourcing region within Capri's supply chain. To this end, they will work with private landowners and local partners to promote regenerative farming practices and improve the resilience of ranching communities, while sequestering greenhouse gas emissions and restoring critical wildlife habitat.
According to the company, the initiative is expected to generate 3 million US dollars in on-the-ground conservation impact through 1.5 million US dollars in funding from Capri Holdings and matching contributions through NFWF.
In line with Capri's corporate social responsibility commitments, the collaboration “with NFWF represents an extraordinary opportunity to tackle climate change and improve grasslands through a first-of-its-kind partnership between fashion and the nation's largest private conservation fund. We are proud to partner with NFWF to accelerate regenerative agriculture practices, improve biodiversity and drive positive environmental and social impacts in the leather supply chain”, commented John D. Idol, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Capri Holdings.
