Brazilian leather exports grow 5.1%
Sales abroad of Brazilian hides and skins have reached a total value of 249 million US dollars in October, according to figures from the Department of Foreign Trade – Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC)
Using the numbers from the quoted governmental source the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB) highlights an increase of 5.1% in comparison to the same month last year.
The accumulate value for the period January to October reached 2,4 billion US dollars resulting in a 21% growth in comparison to similar period last year.
According to CICB, this results in a participation of the leather sector in Brazilian exports of 1.3%.
