Brazilian Forum highlights Life Cycle Assessment in the leather industry
The 2025 CICB Sustainability Forum, held during Fimec in Novo Hamburgo in March 2025, will gather experts to discuss Life Cycle Assessment's role in shaping sustainable practices in the leather sector
The CICB Sustainability Forum 2025, an event to promote sustainable practices in the leather sector, is set to take place on the 19th of March 2025, during the 48th Fimec in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil. The Forum will bring together experts, companies and institutions under the theme "Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) in the Leather Industry".
Organised by the Brazilian Leather Project, a collaboration between the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the event aims to explore innovative methods for assessing the environmental impact of leather production.
The event's partnerships, supported by a strong network of sponsors, underscore the growing interest in sustainability within the leather supply chain. The event will feature panels and lectures showcasing practical applications of LCA, which influence not only production processes but also policy-making and corporate sustainability strategies.
A highlight of the Forum will be presentations by industry representatives, consultancy firms and chemical sector partners, offering insights into how tanneries are using LCA to transform their operations. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with brands, suppliers and sustainability experts, fostering collaboration across the leather industry.
Registrations for the event will open soon.
