Bata re-adjusts retail strategy
Footwear giant Bata has announced the aim to achieve greater operational efficiency and focus on growing from existing outlets, instead of intensifying the rhythm of new stores opening
“The company has changed its strategy of opening 100 plus stores every year. It is now concentrating more on achieving same store growth”, Bata India Chairman Uday Khanna said during the company’s 83rd annual general meeting.
The footwear giant plans to install online kiosks in some of its major retail stores while it will focus on franchise model for market penetration, while focusing on opening a lower average of new stores each year (50-60).
